Ecomec recently completed a comprehensive air conditioning and ventilation installation for a GP surgery and dental clinic in Battersea, South London, ensuring a high standard of air quality, temperature control, and energy efficiency across clinical spaces and reception areas.

The project, designed to align with the latest Health Technical Memorandum requirements, focused on implementing a solution that would optimize air distribution, recovery, and conditioning to enhance patient and staff comfort.

Project Scope

The installation featured two Midea heat recovery ventilation units, specifically sized to provide 10 air changes per hour, ensuring fresh, filtered air was continuously circulated within the clinic. These units were equipped with supply and extract ductwork, with circular air valves in the ceiling for uniform distribution. The spiral ductwork was thoughtfully concealed within the ceiling void, maintaining a clean, unobtrusive aesthetic. Ecomec also installed new louvred ventilation points on the front and rear of the building, allowing the units to safely vent to the exterior atmosphere.

Air Conditioning System

Nine Midea split air conditioning systems were installed, including both ceiling cassette and wall-mounted units. These were strategically placed across clinical rooms and the reception area to provide both heating and cooling capabilities.

Each unit offers individual control, allowing staff to adjust temperatures to suit specific zones within the clinic. The associated refrigerant pipework and electrical wiring were carefully routed through the building’s external wall, with all connections and terminations housed in a secure compound at the rear of the property.

Additional Features

Ecomec also installed a standalone toilet extract system to ensure consistent ventilation in restroom facilities. This system efficiently removes air from these spaces, preventing the build-up of humidity and odors, contributing to a cleaner, healthier environment throughout the facility.
