Air Conditioning and Boiler Replacement

The team at Ecomec recently helped Kingsclere Village Hall with an Air Conditioning and Boiler Replacement. See how we approached and completed this project

Ecomec have successfully delivered a heat pump air conditioning installation at a village hall and community library in Kingsclere.

The existing gas fired floor mounted heaters were obsolete and due to the use of the building as for young community groups, this type of system was not suitable.

Following extensive discussions with English Heritage, the local authority and the community stakeholders, Ecomec designed a heat pump AC system featuring cassette units to provide even air distribution and freeing up valuable floor space in the main hall.

Also a heat recovery VRF system to provide a constant regular temporary in the library protecting the books from damp damage and to provide a comfortable space of the users.

Condensing units were located within a fenced compound to prevent any unpleasant aesthetics and sound levels were kept within the required local authority guidelines.

In addition and to increase efficiency within the main building the old conventional heating system was replaced with a condensing combination boiler to provide heating and hot water to the users. 

A further small gas fired combination boiler was installed to provide low surface temperature radiators and hot water to the main hall toilets.

Scope of Works:

• Supply and install a mini VRF system to serve both Library areas.
• The Library areas are served by 1no. external condensing unit connected to all indoor fan coil units
• Supply and installation of interconnecting refrigerant pipework and wiring, installed at high level in containment/cable tray
• Supply and install 2no. single split type systems to condition the space in the village hall
• Boiler 1 – Supplied and installed an Ideal Logiplus 24Kw new combi boiler to replace existing system boiler.
• Boiler 2 – Supplied and installed an Ideal Logiplus 24Kw new combi boiler with hot water to basins in the toilets adjacent to the hall.
• Provision of Wifi control for the systems
